Pick your spot and stay a while

Most places give you a table. This one gives you a choice, and the choice changes with the weather, the crowd you brought, and how loud you feel like being.

Upstairs

The Rooftop

Get above Water Street and the evening slows all the way down. Open air, bulbs strung end to end, and a view over Yoctangee Park you are never getting from a booth. People come up here for one drink at five and are somehow still here at ten. That is not an accident, that is the roof.

Out back

The Courtyard

A whole yard behind the building: cornhole, a basketball hoop, picnic tables, TVs on the wall and a walk up window so nobody is stuck inside waiting on a round. When it turns cold, the igloos go up and you get your own lit dome with the game on. Bring six people. Bring sixteen.

Inside

The Bar

Pressed tin, gold frames, low red light and whatever the bartender chalked up tonight. Reviewers keep landing on the same comparison without being asked for it, and it is the reason this page opens the way it does. Bartenders here are fast, and they will make you just about anything.

Start with the mozzarella sticks

Then work your way out. Shareables, five flatbreads, three kinds of wings, five kinds of tots, and a salad big enough to be dinner. A few of the regulars are below, and the whole menu is one tap away.

"The best mozzarella sticks I've ever ate."

Yes, really

Bring the kids

A bar that families actually plan around. There is a play house out back, a basketball hoop, and music that will not make you wince. Parents keep saying the same thing in their reviews, so we may as well say it here: it is very kid friendly.
